Professional Interests

Dr. Brandy Bang is a licensed psychologist in the State of Florida and currently has her own private practice where she specializes in the areas of psychological testing and therapy. She has extensive experience in both psychotherapy and psychological testing, including educational, neurological, and forensic evaluations. Dr. Bang earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She completed her clinical internship with the Federal Bureau of Prisons where she worked with incarcerated men and women with serious mental illness providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention, substance abuse and trauma treatment, group and individual therapy for a variety of emotional and behavioral concerns, and medication management. Prior to this, she completed formal trainings at the Family Violence Program, the Miami VA Healthcare System, and the Miami Federal Detention Center. Dr. Bang has also engaged in outpatient practice over the past 4 years at Psychological Testing Associates in the local South Florida region conducting psychoeducational evaluations and pediatric therapy. Dr. Bang has a specialized background in Forensic and Police Psychology, including Critical Incident Stress Management, Critical Response training, and hostage negotiation trainings. She has engaged in substantial research with the Crimes against Children unit of the FBI, Miami Division and was published as lead author on Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children. She continues to research and publish in this field.
