Education:
Dr. Emily Georgia Salivar is a licensed clinical psychologist and Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical and School Psychology at Nova Southeastern University. She earned her B.A. in psychology from the University of Iowa and her PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Miami, adult clinical psychology specialization. She completed her pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship within Veteran’s Administration Medical Centers. Her research focuses on improving romantic relationship functioning among at-risk populations. Specifically, she examines the influence of trauma on dyadic processes and investigates methods to increase dissemination of empirically-based couple interventions. Her work has been funded by the Administration for Children and Families and through the University of Miami College of Liberal Arts, and recognized by Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT), and the ABCT Couples Special Interest Group. Finally, Dr. Georgia Salivar is passionate about graduate-level teaching and clinical supervision of doctoral students.
