Professional Bio

Safiye Gonzalez is an Academic Program Coordinator with the College of Psychology's Department of Counseling. In her position, she is the primary contact for faculty and adjunct faculty. Safiye is the point person in assisting students on the Tevera platform, a comprehensive web-based program used to manage practicum and internship documentation. Safiye's approach to leading is student-centered. She believes that all should be treated with understanding and kindness.

Before joining the Counseling department and in her previous role at Nova Southeastern University, Safiye served as an Academic Advisor to masters and doctoral students at the Fischler College of Education and School of Criminal Justice. She has worked in several capacities during her tenure at NSU: acting as a liaison among students, faculty, college, and university departments. Safiye is a champion for children. She values the fair treatment of all people and advocates for equality, diversity, and mental health. She treasures creativity, embraces innovation and new ideas, and functions well in fast-paced environments. Safiye thoroughly enjoys her work at NSU. Her focus is on serving our dedicated students, staff, and faculty.
