Our Faculty and Staff

David Feldman Ph.D. is a Professor of Psychology in the NSU College of Psychology. He completed his doctorate at Gallaudet University. He has trained and worked in a variety of correctional and psychiatric facilities, including St. Elizabeths Hospital and The Florida Civil Commitment Center. Dr. Feldman currently serves as a Clinical Psychologist (73B) in the United States Army Reserve (IRR).

Dr. Feldman is the Coordinator of the Clinical Forensic Psychology Concentration. He teaches courses in Forensic Assessment, Criminal Law, Interventions in Forensic Settings, and Interventions with Sexual Abusers. Dr. Feldman is the director of the Sexual Abuse and Forensic Research (SAFR) lab and provides mentorship and supervision to students in research and their forensic practicum. Dr. Feldman is a member of the Association for the Prevention and Treatment of Sexual Abuse (ATSA) and is currently serving on the Executive Board of the Florida chapter (FATSA) and is an ATSA Fellow.

Dr. Feldman has provided services to Deaf clientele in community, correctional, and psychiatric facilities and served as an expert witness in legal settings. He has published on a variety of Deaf related forensic and mental health issues and served as the Senior Editor of the Journal of the American Deafness and Rehabilitation Association (JADARA). Dr. Feldman co-directs the Psychology Services Clinic’s Deaf Service Program.

In addition, Dr. Feldman serves as Chair of the Student Climate Committee. He is faculty advisor to the Animal Assisted Interventions (AAI), ASL and Deaf Culture (ASLDC), and Students United for Returning Veterans (SURV) organizations.
