Thomas D. Kennedy, Ph.D. is a Professor and the Director of Academic Affairs for the College of Psychology at Nova Southeastern University (NSU). He serves as a representative for the NSU IRB and co-facilitates the forensic concentration. He co-created and currently serves as clinical director of the Consortium for Research and Treatment in partnership with the Veterans Trust, which provides practicum experience for students interested in working with veterans, active-duty military, and first responders. He received his PhD from the University of Miami and an MA in experimental psychology from SMU. He is a licensed psychologist and board-certified biofeedback fellow. He developed and is the faculty advisor for the student organization Forensic Advocates for Rehabilitation and Reintegration (FARR).
His research interests span two convergent tracks: forensic psychology and novel therapeutic interventions for Veterans, first responders, and active-duty military personnel. He has secured grant funding and served as the lead evaluator for multiple organizations, including Catholic Charities, Miami-Dade Schools Police, and national Bullying Prevention programs. He has published books and book chapters and written articles on juvenile crime, psychopathy, IPV, psychological assessment, military psychology, psychophysiology, and research design.
