American School Counselor Association (ASCA)

In Feb 2023, the M.S. Counseling: School Counseling concentration earned national recognition through the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) Specialized Professional Association (SPA) under the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP)

The Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP), a specialized accrediting body recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), granted 8-year accreditation to the M.S. in Counseling: Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) concentration at Nova Southeastern University.

Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP)

The MS Counseling: School Counseling concentration and the Specialist (Psy.S.) in School Psychology are accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) through the Abraham Fischler College of Education and School of Criminal Justice. This accreditation status is effective from Spring 2022 through Spring 2026.

Florida Department of Education (FLDOE)

The Specialist (Psy.S.) program in School Psychology and the School Counseling concentration of the M.S. in Counseling degree program are approved by the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) 

National Association of School Psychologists (NASP)

The Specialist (Psy.S) program in School Psychology holds the designation of National Recognition by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP). The Doctoral (Psy.D.) program in School Psychology holds the designation of full accreditation status by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP).

NSU Accreditation

Nova Southeastern University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate’s, baccalaureate, master’s, educational specialist, doctoral, and professional degrees. Nova Southeastern University also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels.
