The M.S. in Counseling degree program in the Department of Counseling at NSU offers robust curriculum that prepares counseling professionals in their chosen concentration. Competent counselors are greatly needed in our communities today. Students in the Department of Counseling develop competency by enhancing their self-awareness and practicing with multicultural competence, learning empirically-supported practices, and utilizing sound data to support their efforts in counseling practice. Students also gain an understanding of the uniqueness of the counseling professions and their roles in overarching healthcare, education, and social service systems.
