Professional Interests

Dr. Patrick Powell previously instructed courses in clinical mental health counseling and counselor education programs at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Lockhaven University of Pennsylvania, and Argosy University Sarasota, Atlanta, and Tampa Campuses. He also teaches the Certified Expert Trauma Professional certification course for the International Association of Trauma Professionals. Dr. Powell has a clinical background providing treatment to children, adults, families, and sex offenders. He has worked in nonprofit groups and developed two private practices. He is certified by NBCC as a Nationally Certified Counselor. He is also licensed as a LPC in Tennessee and a LMHC in Florida. He has published several manuscripts and has current works in press. He also often delivers presentations on trauma and process addictions at various conferences. Dr. Powell is a member of ACA, ACES, FCA, FACES, and Chi Sigma Iota.
