Professional Interests

Glenn J. Scheyd, Ph.D., serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience. He teaches both undergraduate and graduate level courses in the department, as well as undergraduate courses for the Farquhar Honors College. Dr. Scheyd was raised in New Orleans, the second of five children, and received his B.A. in psychology from the University of Texas in 1999. He also earned an M.S. and Ph.D. in evolutionary psychology from the University of New Mexico (2002, 2006). His primary area of academic interest is human mate selection, specifically the investigation of factors that impact judgments of physical attractiveness. He has been a faculty member at NSU since 2007.
