NSU hosts children's health fair

Free exams offered to attendees

NSU hosted its annual free "A Day for Children" health fair Sept. 18 at the Fort Lauderdale/Davie campus.

The College of Psychology's Psychology Services Center and the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences' Brief Therapy Institute participated in the event, which offered free assessments for hearing, vision, dental health, speech/language, nutrition and more. Organizations such as the Children's Services Council, Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital, Florida KidCare and the Young at Art Museum participated in the event.

The Broward Sheriff's Office and Crimestoppers offered free fingerprinting and ID card services. NSU's Alvin Sherman Library provided library cards to children and parents to encourage reading. Children also received free haircuts provided by AVEDA and Michelle and Marie hair salons.
