Education:
Oraib Toukhly, Psy.D. serves as an Adjunct Professor at Nova Southeastern University, where she teaches in both doctoral and counseling programs. In addition, she serves at Walden University as a contributing professor in the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program. Dr. Toukhly teaches several core courses, including Advanced Treatment Intervention, Diagnosis & Treatment of Child/Adolescent Psychopathology, Projective Personality Assessment, Psychological Testing for Individual Evaluation, and Social & Cultural Foundations of Counseling.
Dr. Toukhly is deeply committed to community and international humanitarian efforts. She received specialized training at Harvard University in Humanitarian Response Initiatives. She also took many humanitarian trips with her students to South Africa, Jordan, Australia, and India.
Dr. Toukhly completed postdoctoral training at the Development Assessment Clinic and conducted evaluations for children suspected of autism spectrum disorders and other developmental delays. She also worked and taught at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn/New York, at the psychiatric in patient unit and outpatient. In addition to her academic and clinical work, Dr. Toukhly serves as an expert witness in the 17th Judicial Court in Broward County, specializing in child trauma and abuse cases. Her current research interests focus on cultural diversity and personality assessment.
